It had been nearly a month since Mia had brought home little Nick and during that time most everything had settled. Nick was growing and the whole pack took turns caring for him, not out of obligation but because the kid was so darn cute. Mia still dealt with the sleepless nights of feeding but she had a lot of help during the day that let her make up for it by napping. Josh was over everyday for several hours, no exception. And things were going really well for the two of them. He was really proving himself and trust was beginning to be built. Mia still spent most nights in Davids bed and he too was showing he could be a wonderful father to Nick. Even though that situation for most people could have been awkward, for them it just seemed to work.
On the night that Nick had been home one month, Mia prepared a special dinner, sort of as a thanks for all the help with the new baby for all the pack and friends of the pack. She had spent the day preparing all the fixings of a good turkey dinner: turkey, gravy, mashed potatoes, stuffing, sweet potatoe casherole, green bean casserole, fruit salad, grilled shrimp, rolls, cranberry sauce...the house smelled like a restaurant. Finally, when it was all nearly ready, she ran to the back to change quickly before everyone arrived. It was nice to be back in her old body again, although she did miss the baby bump slightly. But her old clothes fit her and she could finally move around again without that big bowling ball on her front. So taking advantage of that she changed into a pair of jeans and a light pink low V front tank top. Then she darted to check on the Nick who was sleeping in his room.
