History: Karl Garu was born Gaius Marius Secondus in 109BC. Growing up he was a childhood friend of the Julius family and most notably of Gaius Julius Ceaser. When they both reached the age of admission to the armed forces the two Roman citizens joined the 13th legion together.
Over the next few decades Gaius Marius proved his valor time and time again and rose to the rank of Praefectus Castrorum under Ceaser and Mark Antony. When Ceaser was forced to ride against Rome he road willingly to help his friends in their just battle.
As he got older Gaius Marius reached the age of forced retirement from the armed forces of the newly founded Empire. However under the new Dictator's command he was allowed to join the Evocati as a first order, an honor reserved to very few at that time. It was during this time that Marius was introduced to the supernatural.
One night a beautiful and enigmatic young woman came to his villia. He had never seen someone so intoxicating before and was instantly enthralled by her loveliness. For many nights she would come and they would share passion that was unheard of in the days of the Roman Republic. On the night before his friend Ceaser would meet his end at the hands of the tratior senators, the woman whispered her name and took him into darkness. The last thing he remembered hearing as a human being was the name Belle Morte.
Belle Morte kept him close by in his first few months as one of the undead and taught him how to use his unearthly powers. Once he was ready she turned him loose to meet out his vengence on the traitorus Mark Antony and the reminates of the senators who had betrayed his childhood friend.
Down through the ages Marius has had many diffrent names. His current for the present century is Karl Garu, a wealthy oil tycoon. He is most curious about the legal status of the Undead in this new world and has come to Dallas to see first hand how the new laws work.
Powers: As a Master Vampire of Belle Morte's bloodline Karl has the power of the Ardeur. He also has the standard Master Vampire powers but most especially the ability to hypnotis people with the power of his voice.
