History: Mckenzie or Mack as he's known to his friends is a cop and has been for 29 years. He entered the police academy after finishing his Bachelor's degree at Texas A&M. He started out as a patrol officer then quickly worked his way up and ended up as a detective. He worked in several different divisions including vice, homicide, and drug enforcement. Vampires and werewolves were still unknown when Mckenzie started working for the police. They become legal citizens around the same time that Mckenzie was promoted to lieutenant. He was given his choice of command and he wanted the newly formed RPIT unit.
He has never been married but was engaged at one point but it didn't work out. He was also involved with Caroline Reed for a year and a half but the relationship wasn't widely known about because he outranked her and they didn't want problems for themselves if it got out. He's been in an off-and-on relationship with the Master of the City since they met during her original kidnapping case at the hands of Killen.
In the aftermath of the Humans First Attack, Mckenzie filed his retirement papers. He took a few months off and then started applying for jobs as a professor at some of the local colleges. He got hired at Dallas College Mountain View teaching Preternatural Criminal Investigation. He does work security on occasion if someone needs help.
