History: Caroline Reed was born in Dallas, Texas in 1973 to Evan and Callie Reed. Her mother died shortly after Caroline's birth. Evan raised Caroline alone. He remarried when Caroline was a teenager. Caroline was a troublemaker as a teenager. Nothing major and nothing that would get her send to juvenile hall but petty lies and stealing that her father made her take back and apologize for taking. She graduated from high school and enrolled at Texas A&M. She was undecided and started out working toward a liberal arts degree. Within the year, she had switched to a Criminal Justice Degree.
After receiving the degree, she worked as a paralegal in a law office for a few years but she didn't like it. After giving it some thought and talking to some of her friend in law enforcement, she went to the police department and put in an application. At first, she was given a job as a file clerk in the evidence department. Her boss suggested her for an internship with Major Crimes. She took it and enrolled in the police academy after she'd finished the internship. After graduating from the police academy, she started out as a patrol officer.
She moved up the ranks fairly fast until she was the commanding officer of the Major Crimes Division. However due to Evan's wealth and his generous gifts to his daughter she was investigated by Internal Affairs. They believed she was on the take and ruined her reputation trying to prove it. When everything was traced back to her father and his businesses they were forced to put her to work in IAB because her officers no longer trusted her and she had hired a lawyer with the intentions of suing the department. Putting her to work in IAB kept things quiet and stopped her from filing a lawsuit against the department. She was recently recruited into IAB when she met Mckenzie Jamison because he worked downstairs in RPIT. They quickly became lovers, getting to know each other after the affair had started. They were together almost two years with a lot of ups and downs and some trust issues due to each of them's own past. They had just recently broken up when Mac met Nadine.
She was engaged once, to a fellow officer who died in the line of duty. She has never been married but has been involved with various officers and civilians alike over her time with the Dallas police.
