Nesting and building it new (Amber, Open)

Amber had deliberately interposed her body between the officers and the two men. She would not stand by and let a twitchy officer put a bullet into Remy. She knew from experience that the police officers were less likely to shoot her. She didn’t understand why they were so suspicious of the two men. They had been the ones to call it in after all. I guess she couldn’t blame them for being nervous as they tried to figure out what was going on with a shots fired call. She sighed as Colin walked up next to her with his palms up showing his hands were empty.

She blinked as Colin quickly rattled off what sounded like a military or police branch name, unit, and a serial number. Amber watched as what he said had an immediate impact on the officer. He straightened his spine and he stilled. Colin seemed to reassure the police officers that we had been good honest helpful citizens. She frowned wondering why the officer would take Colin’s word over hers. She watched the interplay between the two men and realized Colin was using information he had overheard in the past that he felt would help them. She tried to relax a little as the two officers agreed that they could contact them if they needed anything further. Officers Watson and Denton had pulled away and headed towards their fellow officers who were investigating where the shots had come from. Amber relaxed as she watched the police cruiser disappearing down the road. Amber cursed silently knowing her name was going to flag when they sent that report in. RPIT and the Marshall's office would know she was in the area. Her trip to RPIT would have to be soon before they came looking for her. She sighed as it was another thing she had to face to come home. 

Colin asked if it was true we were going on a picnic. Remy confirmed that they were out to spend some time in nature and get some lunch. Remy explained the plan to Colin. It seemed she was going to get her picnic in nature after all. She smiled and relaxed as Remy offered her his arm. She wrapped her arm around his and was feeling reassured that he was okay. She climbed back into the front seat. She watched to see what Colin would decide. She turned to Remy. “Are you truly okay? I was worried that the cop was aiming at your back.” She shook her head about how uncomfortable and odd the whole situation was. She shivered a little as the impact of what happened finally settled in now that her adrenaline was calming down. She gave Remy a reassuring smile. “I could really use some peace and quiet in nature now. How about you?”

[Colin Damisa]

"Thanks that's downright neighborly." Colin smiled his more natural easy-going nature coming to the fore. He'd spent enough time on bases that certain dispositions while nominally foreign were a force of habit. And spying the tell-tale overzealous officiousness of military carriage had certain mannerisms swimming up out of the past. It was all true especially the lies. Perceptions equally telling in body language, frowns or tensions. His smile petering away smoothing his hair with both hands as he looked down the road and back.


Sighing he considered how far they'd come and some of what he scented out there off the road. Doing the mental math he said "Nah, I don't think so. I don't mind being the third leg of a ship but looks like you two intended to get cozy alone. Sorry to hold you folks up. And thanks for the attention and effort."


He realized he'd kept them far too long and inadvertently ratcheted up the tension along with a few other things if the scents coming off Amber were any indication. She probably wasn't aware as to how un-blinded his nose was even with such a clear and present scent of his blood. The worry was easy enough to discern didn't need a hyper acute sense of olfactory awareness for that. The lust hidden and repressed well that was... also a little clearer. And the way they shifted and ranged was telling of confusion or restraint. Probably repression. Shrugging as it wasn't his circus nor his elephant.

"Again you both have been great really stellar two thumbs up. Thank you so much for everything. Let me cut back around and get my ride I'll catch you guys after. Maybe."

He was utterly confused as to what had just happened they were all getting along he was worried that Colin wasn't fully healed but was obviously seeing something he hadn't caught on to. He looked at Amber as the man all but hauled ass back out of the car or hadn't gotten in and had disappeared in short order. Brow hiked he looked at Amber" I don know what that was but I'll search him out later an make sure he alright"

Taking them to a spot he had been once or twice before" no point in letting food go to waste and the sun to not be enjoyed"

He pulled the food blanket and bag out setting them up near a small burbling brook with a little shade so it wasn't oppressively hot." aight sug lemme show you how dis go" taking his tools down closer to the brook and carefully sitting out of the reach of the water and setting up a sifting station.

Amber was just as confused as Remy seemed to be as Colin disappeared as fast as he had appeared. She was not certain what was going on. She had never met or seen Colin before but there were a lot of people she had never met before. She would have thought he would have stayed with them until the police left the area just in case. Wasn’t his car back towards where he got hurt? Amber turned towards Remy and looked just as confused as he was. “I hope he is going to be okay.” She stared off in the direction Colin had disappeared. She had no clue what was going on with him. She nodded to Remy. “I appreciate that. I would like to know that he is okay.” She said it softly with memories rolling over her of helping new werewolves who had gotten themselves into a spot of trouble when they were learning to control their animal. Helping Colin brought back memories of helping the pack on the reservation with her grandfather. She smiled as the memories brought a warmth and gratitude to remember the man who had raised her after her parents had died.

She turned towards Remy with a smile as he seemed determined to carry out their initial plans. She gave him a dazzling smile full of warmth. “I would like that. That sounds like the perfect way to recover balance after that tense situation.” Remy drove them deeper into the nature area. She followed him as he unloaded their gear and led the way to a little rock strewn stream flowing through a lovely shaded and grassy glen. She helped him set up their picnic area and then curiously followed him towards the water. She smiled as he called her Sug. She knew it was just his culture and where he grew up but she found it charming. She grinned as she looked at him before coming closer with a mischievous look on her face. “Sure Sug.”

They spent a pleasant afternoon as Remy showed her how he found some of the gems and bits and pieces he used in his work. She enjoyed being outside surrounded by nature. She took some time to meditate and reflect on the changes she was trying to make in her life. The afternoon was a balm to her spirit. She would have to come out by herself and spend more time trying to reconnect with her roots. It had been a pleasant day overall.
